Districtwide seal coat project to begin this week

Beginning Wednesday, July 30, 2025 (weather permitting), TxDOT’s contractor, Wagner & Co. will begin the districtwide application of seal coat to state roadways throughout the Brownwood District.

Santiago Mendoza visited the news office to proudly show off his 32-pound catfish he caught on the Colorado River last Friday, July 18th. Santiago is 11 years old. He caught this beauty with a rod-n-reel using cut shad as bait while fishing with his brother and his brother's friend.

San Saba man sentenced to 40 years for possession of methamphetamine

Donald Riggs, 43, of San Saba, Texas, was sentenced to 40 years in prison after a plea of guilty in the 33rd Judicial District Court of Llano County, Texas, Judge Allan Garrett presiding, for the offense of Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.
