Did flooding affect pecan orchards? - Millican Pecan

I spoke to Winston Millican on August 14th to get an update on Millican Pecan after the recent flooding. This information came from that meeting.The Millican Pecan store was not flooded, but the neighbors got water in their house. The store is actually six inches out of the flood zone.

Receipts totaled 2,838 head. The market continued to be strong this week with the stocker steers fully steady with 5 steers 397 lbs at $550.00 ($2183.50). The stocker heifers were steady with 4 heifers at 460 lbs $430.00 ($1978.00). The feeder steers were steady with 3 steers 765 lbs at $325.

There was a wonderful turnout for the Meet the Teachers night last Wednesday. I met the cutest little boy in the parking lot. He looked out his window and introduced himself and asked me my name.

80 Years Ago August 16, 1945The courthouse yard is taking on new life as the shrubbery is being trimmed and the grass being watered. When shrubbery and grass do not get any attention it will naturally die. We have an abundance of water and the shrubbery will flourish with reasonable attention.
