The courthouse yard is taking on new life as the shrubbery is being trimmed and the grass being watered. When shrubbery and grass do not get any attention it will naturally die. We have an abundance of water and the shrubbery will flourish with reasonable attention. Many citizens have remarked lately on the neglect of the courthouse yard and we are all glad to see it take on new life.

The news of the surrender of Japan reached San Saba when the fire whistle began to whistle and auto horns began to blow. Congratulations and handshaking were in order for those who have loved ones in the service and hoping now for their early return. San Saba has stood the test of the past four years and took their part in all war work and every Bond Drive and Red Cross work in a grand manner.
