The Richland Springs Report

I’m on a mission. I forgot the column had to be in by five on Sunday. I was busy finishing a quilt for my third great grandson, who will arrive shortly. It’s a busy little quilt, but most definitely boyish. My concern with it is the background print is a dull beige.

National Young Farmers Education Association

Tommy and Clovia Ketchum traveled to Albany, New Mexico, over this past week to attend the 59th National Young Farmer Educational Convention.

Jordan Cattle Auction

Receipts totaled 3,928 head for the week. The market continued to be very strong this week with a lot of activity. The stocker steers sold steady except for the real light weights were $5-$10 higher with 4 steers 378 lbs $392.00 ($1481.76).

2nd Annual Holiday Community Meal

Second and Wallace Church of Christ sponsored their second annual Holiday Community Meal last week on Tuesday, December 17th.Based on the numbers from last year’s event, 150 were expected to be fed at the event. At the end of the day, approximately 260 meals were served.

2024 SS County Pecan Show Results

The Annual San Saba County Pecan Show was judged by Scott Anderson, Brown County Extension Agent, and Tom Gutherie, Mills County Extension Agent, on Monday, December 9, 2024. To prepare, 50 entries were weighed, cracked and plated on Monday, December 9th.
