Steven (Lane) Haviland was born in Georgetown, Texas, raised in Lampasas, Texas, and graduated from Lampasas High School. Growing up, Steven always wanted to be a Public Servant. He attended Central Texas Collage in Killeen, Texas, and graduated as a Texas Peace Officer on December 13, 2024.

HO HUM...CAN’TCHALETAFELLER SLEEP?––Young William Thomas seems to have made a New Year’s resolution to get lots of sleep in 1955. Son of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Cooley of San Saba, he was born Jan. 4, the first baby of the new year born in San Saba Memorial Hospital. Holding him for the cameraman is Mrs. Pearl Long, supervisor of nurses at the hospital.

The next American Legion meeting will be Thursday, January 9th. The building will open at 5:30 PM and a meal will be served at 6:30 PM. The meal will be a Mexican potluck. Members are asked to bring their favorite kitchen side dish and or other complimentary dishes, such as bread, salad, or dessert.
