San Saba vs Johnson City – Week 3 Preview

The third ball game of the 2023 football season will be upon us this Friday evening. San Saba (1-1) will be hosting the Johnson City Eagles (1-1) at Rogan Field; kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. The Eagles are coming off of a win over Comfort 58-20, and a loss to Thrall 42-56.

The season opener at Rogan Field was not a good one for the Armadillos as they fell to the Junction Eagles 34-22. San Saba is now 1-1 on the young year and are looking to bounce back against the Johnson City Eagles next Friday at Rogan Field; kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

08/24/2023 San Saba 41; Lampasas 0 The San Saba Junior Varsity defeated the Lampasas Badgers 41-0 at Rogan Field Thursday evening,August 24th. It was the season opener for both teams. Lampasas kicked to San Saba to begin the contest.

Football season officially started last week with our first varsity game against Smoking for Jesus right here in Cherokee. According to Coach White, “Gunner Baugh played well on offense and defense and scored on a 25-yard pass from Joel Valdez. Valdez had 3 rushing touchdowns and 1 passing.

The 88th home opener at Rogan Field will see the Armadillos take on the Eagles from Junction this Friday evening. San Saba will be starting a fourgame home series that will take them through the preseason and into district play. Last week, the Eagles (0-1) lost to Deleon 4019.
