SSGC helping others

Members of the Community Service Committee of the San Saba Garden Club (SSGC) took advantage of the cooler weather and cleaned out the raised garden bed at the San Saba Rehabilitation Center backyard Wednesday September 13th.

News From Cherokee ISD

Last week, our junior high and varsity football teams played Bracken Christian. The junior high Indians played hard but were unable to get the win. The varsity team fared better and snagged a decisive win with a score of 61-16.

Dillo J.V. defeats Hamilton yards out. Thorpe was sprung by the great blocking of Jose Vega, Danny English, Adam Matthews and Graden Lebow. Dawson’s kick was good. 14-6 Dillos. San Saba kicked to Hamilton. Kalub Roberts and Jason Everett were good on defense.

Dillo J.V. defeats Hamilton

The San Saba J.V. Dillos defeated the previously undefeated Hamilton Bulldogs in Hamilton last Thursday evening by a score of 27-6. San Saba kicked to Hamilton. The Dillo Defense backed the Bulldogs up, but a facemask penalty bailed them out.

Armadillos upset the Bulldogs

The Armadillo football team opened up district play with a 32-28 win over the Hamilton Bulldogs who were favored to win the game by 17 points.

Armadillos lose another tight ball game

San Saba suffered their 3rd consecutive loss on the season as they fell on homecoming night to the Eldorado Eagles 20-14. San Saba will open up district play next Friday at Rogan Field against a strong Hamilton team that is 3-1; kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.

Dillo J.V. Defeat Eldorado 29-18. San Saba’s Junior Varsity defeated the Eldorado Eagles by a score of 29-18 last Thursday night in Eldorado. It was a close game for a while. The Dillo Defense was dominant against the run game. We gave up a few big plays in the passing game.
