San Saba High School seniors Jefferson Stencil and Caitlin Mays have been named semifinalists in the National Honor Society (NHS) Scholarship program, each receiving a $3,200 award in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement, leadership, service, and character.

The Richland Springs One Act Play company earned top honors at the District 25 UIL One Act Play Contest, held Friday, March 13, in Lometa, with their powerful performance of scenes from The Library by Scott Z. Burns.

San Saba Powerlifting Results at Regional Meet

San Saba Powerlifting is very proud of all the girls we had compete for us and continue to compete this year. We had eight girls qualify for regionals. Their hard work and dedication showed off as they competed at the Regional meet in Dublin last Saturday.

Rotary March Student-of-the-Month was awarded to Caitlin Mays.Each month a different senior is awarded. Awards are based on leadership, character, teacher nominations, and a personal essay written by the student. They receive a certificate and are invited to a luncheon with the Rotarians.

Track season has officially commenced here at Cherokee ISD. Last week, both our junior high and high school track teams traveled to Brady for their meet. This week the junior high track meet will be in San Saba while the high school tracksters will travel to Johnson City. Good luck to our runners!
