RS Coyotes bring home State Runner-Up Finish at UIL State Track Meet

The Richland Springs Coyotes capped off an outstanding track and field season on May 16th, at the UIL State Track Meet with an impressive runner-up team finish, earning 69 total points against the best competition in the state. The Coyotes showcased their speed, strength, and determination throughout the meet, bringing home multiple medals and state titles in a memorable performance for Richland Springs athletics.

Leading the way was Brice Roesler, who dominated the field events by capturing gold medals in both the discus and shot put. Cohen Ethridge also had a tremendous day on the track and in the field, earning silver medals in the long jump and the 300-meter hurdles. In the pole vault, Evan Deeds battled hard to earn a 6th place finish, adding valuable team points at the state meet.

The Coyotes’ relay teams also delivered standout performances. The 4x100-meter relay team sprinted to a 3rd place finish, while the 4x200-meter relay team claimed the state championship with a 1st place finish. The gold medal-winning relay team consisted of Layne Ward, Evan Deeds, Ethan Deeds, and Cohen Ethridge.

The success at the UIL State Track Meet reflects the dedication, hard work, and determination of the athletes and coaches throughout the season. Congratulations to the Richland Springs Coyotes on an outstanding season and an unforgettable performance at the UIL State Track Meet!
