The San Saba Golden Armadillo Band traveled to Texas Lutheran University in Seguin this past Friday to participate in their annual BandFEST. Our performance resulted in an Outstanding Performance trophy and FIVE Outstanding Soloists awards. The band’s repertoire included Monterey March, Stay, Me (reaffirmation) and Variations on a Sailing Song. Daniela Baez (Flute) and Marlane Rodriguez (Clarinet) were named Outstanding Soloists for “Stay”; Chris Vega (Alto Saxophone) was named Outstanding Soloist on “Me”; and Sabrina Dozier (Chimes) and Tucker Johnson (Timpani) were named Outstanding Soloists on “Variations on a Sailing Song.”
This was the last time for the 25-26 San Saba Golden Armadillo Band to perform together. We are so proud of their hard work and dedication in preparation for today’s concert. They represented the SSGAB and SSISD with class and professionalism.
Thank you to our 21 seniors that are graduating this year. All of you will most definitely be missed!
