Testing is in full swing this time of year. We’ve had some fun preparing in the elementary hallway with a “game” theme. Our motto is “Level Up Your STAAR game.” Mrs. Owen’s theme was Super Mario Brothers.

On Sunday, April 28, the New Hope Presbyterian Church is welcoming Orlando Lopez as guest preacher. Orlando has been in ministry for 28 years, serving in pastoral roles from Louisiana to Texas in both Presbyterian and Assembly of God congregations.

Praise God for all this lovely rain. The nasty storms passed us by, and area gardens and trees are benefitting from a good drenching rain. It’s not a frog strangler yet, but it sure is good. I don’t have my watering system set up yet, so this is good for me.

Forty-eight San Saba High School students competed in the District 29- 2A UIL Academic meet last week in Mason. SSHS was runner-up at the meet and brought home many individual medals and ribbons, as well as six team champion plaques.
