Domingo Duarte Botello 92, of San Saba, Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020. He was born in Pasche, Texas, to Crisostomo España Botello and Maria De Jesus Duarte on February 19, 1928.

Domingo spent much of his youth in and around San Saba working on the family farm but moved to Augusta, Georgia, at 23 when he was drafted into the Army. He remained in Georgia at Camp Gordon for two years as part of the signal corps and returned to San Saba after being honorably discharged. Mr. Botello was an avid golfer, working 25+ years at the Hancock Park Golf Course in Lampasas. He married Carol Newman in 2006; upon his retirement they moved back to San Saba. Domingo enjoyed working with his hands, whether it was carpentry or in the yard, and always enjoyed sharing his talents with others. He was a hard worker and always said “if you didn’t get a compliment for the job, you didn’t do it right.” He enjoyed watching Cowboys football, Texas Rangers baseball, wrestling and, of course, Walker Texas Ranger. Most of all, he loved his family and friends and could spend all day in long conversation.

Domingo is survived by his wife, Carol Botello of San Saba; one son, Ruben Botello and his wife Alicia of Tyler; step-daughters: Kelly Self and husband Jim of Vidor, and Alida Korns and husband Kevin of Deer Park; “Little Sister,” Nancy Hart and husband Kenneth from Vidor; brothers: Thomas Duarte Botello of Lubbock, Felix Duarte Botello of San Saba, Mauro Duarte Botello of Fort Worth Texas, and John Duarte Botello Norwalk, California; sisters: Maria Santos Ramirez of San Saba, Pauline Perez and husband Joe of San Saba, Texas; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Domingo is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Gregorio Duarte Botello, Chris Duarte Botello, Trinidad Duarte Botello, Simon Duarte Botello, and Joe Duarte Botello.
