“This is a limited time offer” How many times have we read or seen an advertisement with those words contained in it. It conveys the idea that at some determined future time the offer will expire. Usually it instructs us something like, “hurry this offer won’t last long, so act now.”
The truth is, our very own lives are a limited time offer. None of us know how much time we have left on this earth.
Psalm 90:12 says, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Not merely count them. For no one knows how many days they will live, but rather to live each day as if it could be our last.
The apostle Paul told the church at Ephesus, “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time…” We should all live our lives knowing there is an expiration date on our mortal lives!
Jesus offers us abundant life. It is His gracious gift to us purchased with His own Blood. He redeems us and gives us His Holy Spirit so that we can live life free from the fear of death!!!
I saw a billboard a few days ago that pointedly stated, “Are you ready to meet God?” Let that sink in for a moment. What we do with this “limited time offer” life that we have been given, determines the answer to that question. Everyone of us will one day be summoned to this meeting.
