Raul Aragon Sr.

Raul Aragon Sr., passed away on October 23, 2022, at the age of 61. He was born on March 14, 1961, in Durango, Mexico, to Aurelio and Lucia  Aragon. Raul married Maria Cruz Reyna on February 13, 1977, in Durango, Mexico, and they moved to the United States where they finally made their home in San Saba. Raul worked as a cook for Kay Capshaw for many years until he accomplished his dream of opening his own restaurant, El Jalapeño, in 2003. His business was open for 14 years before he and his family retired in 2017. He continued his passion for cooking and selling tacos on the side after he retired. Raul helped feed several people with catering and helping those in need; he was the type of person to give you the shirt off his back. He loved to cook, fish and loved being around his family. He especially loved to cook for his friends and family; it brought him great joy knowing they were enjoying a meal he had cooked for them.

Raul is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cruz Aragon; his sons: Leo Aragon (Pilar) of Mexico, Raul Aragon Jr. (AnaCristina), and Michael Aragon (Faith) of San Saba; his daughters: Ofelia Landeros (Jose), and Teresa Mora of San Saba; siblings: Arturo Aragon (Elena) of Witchita, Kansas, and Rosa Reyna (Francisco) of Nolanville, Texas; grandchildren: Roberto, Ramiro, Daniel, Destiny, Lenzie, Ethan, Omar, Dante, Julissa, Brandon, Analia, Kessley, and Analisa; and one great-grandchild, Santiago.

Raul is proceeded in death by his parents; daughter, Maria Luisa; and two brothers, Jose and Miguel.

Pallbearers: Raul Aragon Jr., Michael Aragon, Roberto Coronado, Ramiro Coronado, Daniel Aragon, Ethan Landeros, Omar Landeros, Brandon Mora, Dante Aragon Honorary Pallbearers: Arturo Aragon, Miguel Aragon Jr., James Reyna, Florencio Simental Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of San Saba.
