Friday, July 29th, Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) released a statement after voting no on the Democrats’ attempt to strip the Second Amendment: Representative August Pfluger: “I am opposed to any infringement on the Second Amendment. In the long history of mankind, freedom and liberty are not lost overnight – it comes by way of the slow and gradual burn. We’ve seen an assault on the First Amendment through the legacy media and social media giants censoring the thoughts and opinions of individuals on the Right, while propping up their favorite candidates and covering up stories that could be detrimental to their public personas. Policies are then implemented that are anti-religious freedom, anti-due process, anti-free assembly and today anti-the right to keep and bear arms. These rights shall not be infringed. Instead of making families and communities safer, this backward gun-grabbing attempt does nothing to harden school security, address our nation’s mental health crisis, or reverse the deprecation of our morals and values. We must protect our Constitutional Rights.”
August 2, 2022 Statement on Killing of Terrorist Ayman Al-Zawahiri House Foreign Affairs Committee Member Representative August Pfluger (TX-11) released a statement after the United States government killed Ayman al Zawahiri, the current leader of al Qaeda.
Representative August Pfluger: “As a fighter pilot who spent years fighting terrorists abroad, I am extremely proud of the U.S. intelligence and military professionals for taking out the Leader of Al Qaeda in Kabul. Unfortunately, the attack confirms that Al Qaeda is again operating freely in Afghanistan following President Biden’s tragic withdrawal. The resurgence of terrorists abroad is even more dangerous for our homeland given at least 55 known or suspected terrorists have crossed our border this fiscal year alone. We cannot be too vigilant when it comes to the safety of American citizens.” August 9, 2022 Statement on FBI Raid of Mar-A-Lago Pfluger calls for testimony Friday Representative August Pfluger (TX-11) released a statement following the FBI raid of former President Trump’s home in Mar-A-Lago: Representative August Pfluger: “America’s trust in our Justice Department has reached its lowest point in history. If this raid deals with President Trump’s handling of documents, then every American needs to wake up and understand the magnitude of this event - a continuation of the biggest political scandal in U.S history where Democrats, the media, and others in the government have been plotting against President Trump at every turn. Raiding the home of a former president is the type of action that authoritarian governments take to dispose of political threats.
“The lack of information over the last 12 hours from the DOJ is also deeply concerning. The leaders of the DOJ and FBI must be public, transparent, and accountable. Congress is in session on Friday. AG Garland and FBI Director Wray must come before the Judiciary Committee. The American people deserve to know everything.
“If the Department of Justice can do this to a former President, they can do it to you.”
