Pfluger Introduces Bill to Reimburse Texas for Protecting the Southern Border
Representative August Pfluger (TX-11) joined Rep. Pat Fallon (TX-04) and other Texan Representatives in introducing the Lone Star Reimbursement Act. The bill will pay the State of Texas back for the costs of Operation Lone Star incurred in FY21 and FY22, which total $1,434,094,366,
“President Biden’s Administration refuses to enforce federal law and secure the border. Their failures on the southern border are forcing Texas taxpayers and law enforcement officials to quell the influx of illegal migration across our border. So far, the State of Texas has poured nearly $1.5 billion into Operation Lone Star. Border security should not fall on the shoulders of Texans, and our local communities deserve to be paid back. I am proud to join Representative Pat Fallon and other Texans in this plan to send the bill for the border crisis where it belongs: the President’s desk.”
