Dear Editor: I had hoped to leave San Saba
I had hoped to leave San Saba with my last article's loving words and memories, but alas, events since happened to warrant a few more words.
In the past week, I asked the San Saba police and the State Attorney Generals’ office to begin investigations on the San Saba Rehabilitation Facility for negligent and criminal care. I am a person of calm, understanding, fairness, and intelligence, however, there are three things I will not tolerate: one does not harm a child, an animal, or a defenseless person. If that line is crossed, I will advocate the solution and prosecution of that situation. My husband, Harold, became a person unrecognizable in San Saba Rehabilitation. He was terrified and tortured, and the staff blamed him for his condition when we knew that was not the case.
My mom taught me if I saw a problem, stood and did nothing, or did not try something to help remedy it, then I became part of the problem. I love this town, and I have hope for its future and the people who will enjoy it, but my dear ones, you have an enormous problem and it involves people you might love dearly.
