Alice in Wonder Land

How wonderful to get a call from Cynthia this morning that started my week with joy because a group from The Fathers House is planning a mission trip to Mexico the first week in June. Larry and I moved to San Saba from Ohio in 2006 to be closer to Mexico for mission trips and so thankful The Fathers House is continuing that.

In my mailbox this morning was two books of We The Widows, by my classmate, Pati. I am sending one to Audrey. I received the sad news that Audrey's husband Charlie died last Sunday. After hearing this, I was not in 'the frame of mind' to write my article last week.

I invited my 90-year-old neighbor Bernice to take a Sunday drive yesterday with me to Pleasant Grove Road here in Zanesville, Ohio. She showed me the home she used to live in that was around the block from where my sister Rhea and her family lived around 60 years ago. From Pleasant Grove Road, we went through Adamsville to Dresden. I showed Bernice my home where I was born and raised and where other relatives are living or had lived. We enjoyed driving down memory lane.

Tomorrow, I have a meeting in Dresden with the Jefferson High School Alumni that I accepted to be the President. We will be deciding the where, what, when and who for the Banquet set for Saturday, June 25th.

I replied to a letter from Cindy (Tom) Collelo who spend their winters in San Saba and will go back to Minnesota this week. I have photos of when Cindy and I attended a Gaithers concert two to three years ago and when she helped me with preparations for the Community Thanksgiving Meal in 2020 that was cancelled because of covid.

A lady was mailing a gift of a Bible to a relative. The postal clerk examined the heavy package and inquired if it contained anything breakable. “Nothing,” the lady told him, “but the Ten Commandments.”

Galations 5:22-23 NIV – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Helpful to not break the Ten Commandments.)
