Rev. Cyndi Young is a fifthgeneration pastor, and her heritage includes ministers, missionaries, chaplains, teachers and laity leaders. Most of her life has been participating in worship from the view of the piano bench. She loves music, preaching, writing, missions and the joy of serving people of all ages.
Her mission work included time in South Africa as well as three years in El Salvador where she started her own adoption agency processing Salvadorean infants into North American homes. In recent years she has been especially drawn to the senior adults (because, she admits, she is one!) Her scholastic work was at Azusa Pacific University and Perkins School of Theology.
She is extremely proud of her son and daughter, their wonderful spouses and her six grandchildren ranging in ages from eight to twenty-two. She admits her love of good coffee, traveling the world, experiencing new foods and cultures, laughter, meeting new friends, Texas sunsets and discovering sacred spaces throughout each day. Her life verse is found in Psalm 90:12 'Teach me to number my days aright that I may gain a heart of wisdom.'
Rev. Young currently serves at First Methodist Church in San Angelo, Texas as an Associate Pastor with emphasis on Senior Adult Ministries.
Rev. Cyndi Young will be delivering the message at New Hope Presbyterian Church, ECO in the Sloan community on Sunday, August 16th, at 9:30 a.m.
