The Commissioners Court met on August 10, 2027. There were no public comments. Here are highlights from that meeting.
Kevin Shahan, CPA, presented the Annual Audit Report for Fiscal Year 24/25, and it was approved.
The Community Block Development Grant Documents were presented for the Court's approval. The grant was approved last year. These documents on receiving payments needed to go through the Court, and they were approved.
The Sheriff's Office had requested that the Court temporarily remove vacation time accrual maximum on behalf of Inv. John Fincher, Sgt. Waylon Chamberlain, and K9 Deputy Ian Merriman. That item was tabled until the next meeting.
The set salaries for all Elected County and Precinct Officers and other allowances for Fiscal Year 26/27 were approved.
The Fiscal Year 26/27 Proposed Budget was unanimously approved.
Order General Election Even though there are no contested county officer positions after the Primary Election, the county still has to hold an election for them in November.
The Appraisal Roles submitted by the San Saba Central Appraisal District was approved.
The Burn Ban is still in place. Line- Item Transfers and Accounts Payable presented by County Treasurer Ms. Lois VanBeck were approved.
A Commissioners Court meeting is scheduled for August 24, 2026, at 9 a.m. The Court also added a pending meeting date for August 17 in case it is needed for budget purposes, but it will most likely be cancelled.
