It was very windy here last week that scattered Christmas decorations, and my American flag was torn from where it was attached to my porch.
That reminds me of a story in our 'Reader' when I was in grade school with a contest between the sun and the wind about which one could get the coat off a young man. The wind blew up a storm, but the young man clutched his coat tighter. Then the sun made it so hot that the young man took off his coat. There have been tornadoes, hurricanes, viruses, situations and evil forces that have clouded the real reason we celebrate Christmas. Sadly, some people are overwhelmed at this time of year. The best gift you can give is help someone who is going through the circumstances when God has helped you. I know this from experience because I have people who support and pray for me since my husband, Larry, died 11-22-20. Storms will come during our lifetime, and the sun will come up every morning.
II Corinthians 1:4 - He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
