Dear Editor:
Regarding our previous conversations as to some of the over-the-top political rancor of your latest pundit, Anne Vincent:
Anne has a significant amount of oh me's and oh my's to be considered cute-ish. Her piece is somewhat well done and one that is fairly interesting at the times when it sticks to the politicians who are not in her favor and not the 88 percent of the electorate that voted Republican. Yes, Anne, the orange hair icon. . . it's face really is a funny schtick.
Pride in a Grand ole party as it were, always was and thank God forever will be part of the American fabric and free speech the chosen tapestry, however, dear one, and when it comes to attacking, not only the political views but in effect, the character of individuals who's views differ with hers, it is really stirring the already boiling pot. Demeaning the education, or lack of it as she puts it, and calling us Bible thumpers do nothing but create a sense of loss and hope.
We've come through a harrowing 2020 starting with the burning to the ground of our only grocery store in March of that year. Little did we know at that time what was about to befall us. Then there was covid. 2021 started out in February with the rolling blackouts and weather of biblical proportions wreaking havoc upon our little community. Many died from all of the above, not the least of which was my husband of 36 years.
Donna (Editor), if l wrote nothing else but this in this piece I assure you this would be more than enough. The late great Helen Hayes MacArthur, known as the first lady of the American Theatre said it best: "The greatest legacy you can leave mankind is to grow old without bitterness."
Let's all just let it go. Let the rancor die the death it so richly deserves. Let's all just heal and allow one another to heal. We've done it before, this time let's do it together.
