Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor -

Recently, I was involved in a single car accident in the city of San Saba. The purpose of this letter is to acknowledge and praise all of the First Responders in San Saba county.

After checking to ensure I was alert and responsive, a very nice bystander called 9-1-1 to start emergency services. Everyone seemed to arrive all at once, and very quickly at that. . . next thing I knew I was looking at EMS, San Saba VFD, City Police and City of San Saba Street Department personnel. I thought, “My superheroes have arrived!”

During the process of removing me from my vehicle, I noticed that all of my “heroes” were so handsome and had such kind, caring voice tones. All their faces reflected that of Tom Selleck’s. . . and with their gentle but stout way of transferring me to the stretcher made me so happy that I had lost 20 pounds this year!

Joking aside, I felt very blessed, as well as safe, in the presence of all those who responded to my accident. Everyone, please join me in showing thanks and appreciation to our county First Responders and even to those who are not employed as First Responders, such as the Street Department employee. Let them know you care by sending monetary donations that may help purchase equipment or replenish stock for their facilities.

I’m proud to live in a county where comradery is prevalent and all the First Responders look like Tom Selleck!
