Update from TxDOT:
TxDOT’s contractors have completed culvert extensions, installation of driveway/intersection pipe and safety end treatments, as well as installation of bridge rail (retrofit) updates.
A detour is now in place on the northbound side of the road, as the contractor will soon begin pavement reconstruction in this area of SH 16. The next step of this widening project is to prepare the subgrade of the roadbed prior to temporary pavement being installed.
The contractor is working to have traffic switched to the detour by the end of the month, weather permitting, and then start the flex base work on the south side at that time.
