It is a great day to be a Dillo! I think I speak for all SSISD staff, students, parents, and community when I say pheeeew! Well done. I hope our parents and community realize that our staff did everything they could to make the class of 2020 graduation as special as we could.

CTC summer semester goes online with many virtual classes

Due to the continued concerns about the spread of COVID-19, Central Texas College (CTC) announced it will initially offer all face-to-face courses scheduled for the summer 2020 semester as online courses at its Central, Fort Hood and Service Area campuses.

Texas Pecan Board to hold elections

The Texas Pecan Board will hold elections September 1, 2020, to elect three (3) board members. The Board was established in 1988 after pecan growers throughout Texas voted into effect a one-half-cent-per-pound pecan assessment to provide funds for promotion, education and research.

9-year drought in U.S. space program ended May 30th

On Saturday, May 30th, at Kennedy Space Center, SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket blasted off in flight at 3:22 p.m. Onboard were two astronauts - Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley - riding in the astronaut capsule, thus ending the 9-year drought for the U.S. astronaut launch program.
