When it seemed that the COVID-19 virus had averted San Saba's 4th of July Fireworks show, our community responded with an emphatic and loud “NO! Let’s see what we can do." However, without a sponsor or sponsors, and due to the hardships San Saba businesses have been undergoing during the coronavirus declaration, donations for fireworks seemed unapproachable. Therefore, it was announced that this event would not occur in San Saba this year.

Hearing such news, our awesome citizens and business owners pulled together the donations for the show to go on! With that said, this celebration will be on SATURDAY, JULY 4th, in Mill Pond Park, to start at dusk (approximately 9 p.m.).

Thus, many thanks are owed to San Saba County Ministerial Alliance. In addition, the following sponsors are also singled out for their generous donations: The Father’s House, Blaylock Funeral Home, Pecan Valley Hardware, Deeds Motor Company, San Saba Fire Safety Equipment, Hamrick’s Automotive Center, Heritage Funeral Home, San Saba County Farm Bureau Insurance, San Saba’s First Baptist Church and the City of San Saba for this year’s display. Special thanks also goes to Tim Sebastian who will be overseeing the pyrotechnics.

Unfortunately, the River City Band will not perform this year due to social distancing; however, spectators may tune to FM 88.7 during the fireworks for a tribute to America in song. Especially this year, we gladly celebrate our great country with this fireworks display.

Stay safe and healthy. Please, everyone, use social distancing and government recommended precautions so that we may continue to celebrate for many years to come.
