We walked through the ruins of Caesarea last year on our trip to Israel. The ancient city was built by Herod the Great in honor of Caeasar Augustus in about 20 BC. It was positioned on the Mediterranean coast and boasted the largest man-made port in the ancient world.

City Council holds regular meeting Tuesday, June 16th

The San Saba City Council held a regular meeting on Tuesday, June 16th, in the City Hall Chambers. Mayor Ken Jordan called the Council to order at 6:00 p.m., announced a quorum, and welcomed everyone. Alderman Marcus Amthor gave the invocation and led everyone in the flag pledges.

Receipts totaled 4,623 head. The stocker steers and heifers sold steady. The feeder steers were $2 lower, and heifers were steady. The real fleshy 600-800 lbs steer calves sold $5 lower. The packer cows were $2 higher with the top cow at $73, and bulls were $2 higher with the high bull $103.
