2021-2022 San Saba Masonic Lodge No. 612 officers installed

On Saturday, June 26th, the officers of San Saba Lodge No. 612 met at the Lodge for the closing of the Lodge of Sorrow. A short memorial was held for those Freemasons who passed during the 2020-2021 Masonic Year. After the meeting, the group traveled to Goldthwaite for the installation.

Receipts totaled 3,129 head. A choice offering of calves and yearlings were offered with strong demand on a very active market. The stocker steers sold steady with 14 steers 555 lbs $165.00 ($915.75).

77 Years Ago - ENTRY IN RODEO PARADE – Harking back to the pioneer days was this entry in the Sixth Annual Rodeo & War Bond Rally Parade last Thursday. The donkey cart was entered by San Saba Floral & Gift Shop and won second prize among comical entries. Driving the donkey is Herbert Clark Jr. and left to right are Mrs. John W. Patterson Jr. and Miss Melba Hamilton in the cart seat with little Joanne Clark in the rumble seat.

97 Years Ago June 26, 1924 The Civic Club of San Saba held its regular meeting Tuesday afternoon, with Mrs. Harry Hopkins presiding. A general Clean-up Day will be called the 2nd week in July and will be given extensive publicity and prizes will be awarded to those who get the best results.
