As the mercury rises, the opportunities to cook a greater number of meals on the grill increases. For many people, there’s nothing like the smoke-kissed flavor of meats, poultry and vegetables seared over an open flame. Hamburgers are a grilling staple in many households.

Last week I received a certificate in the mail on completing the Grief/Share classes sponsored by the First Baptist Church in San Saba. The classes were a help to me. At the last class, we launched balloons. My balloon read: Larry Lee Smith 8-04-40 to 11- 22-20.

San Saba County Museum - is now open 1:30 - 4:00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through October. Items for the Community Calendar are limited to 60 WORDS OR LESS. If they are too long, they will be edited. Farmer’s Market is back! Every Wednesday from 5 p.m. “until sold out” on the courthouse square.

Hello, my San Saba loves, and do not let the title of my column fool you, I still love San Saba, Texas and my wonderful home; I am just missing my California family who came to spend time with me last week.

City Council holds regular meeting Tuesday, June 8th; employees recognized

The San Saba City Council held a regular meeting on Tuesday, June 8th, in the City Hall Chambers. Mayor Ken Jordan called the Council to order at 6:00 p.m. Alderman Shawn Oliver gave the invocation and led everyone in the pledges to the American flag and the Texas flag.
