Lowe’s Market celebrated grand reopening last week

Diez y Seis Celebration is a Huge Success!

St. Mary’s Catholic Church held its 2nd Annual Diez y Seis Celebration at Risien Park Saturday, September 18th. The day was filled with delicious food, games, contests, and music.

Roger McGehee, from the McGehee Family Orchard of San Saba, brought in the first pecans of the 2021 Season to the San Saba News & Star office on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. The pecan variety is Pawnee.

Alice in Wonder Land

Last Friday, I checked one more thing off my list of To Do's since moving to Zanesville, Ohio, from San Saba, Texas. I got a doctor's appointment. But it isn't until Wednesday, October 6th, and I had a prescription to be filled this week.

The Amazing Monarch Butterfly

I have always been amazed that tiny hummingbirds are capable of migrating across the Gulf of Mexico and down into South America and back every year. They are so small (the average ruby-throat only weighs three grams, a little over a tenth of an ounce, and they have to beat their wings so fast.
