USDA releases nationwide online customer survey

Producers can now take a nationwide survey to help the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) improve and increase access to its programs and services for America’s farmers, ranchers, and forest managers. The survey includes new and existing customers.

Due to a shortage of volunteer help, San Saba County Friends of Animals is pausing intake under its rescue and adoption program, effective immediately. If and when our circumstances change, we will let everyone know through an announcement here in the San Saba News & Star, and on our Facebook page.

San Saba Lodge to meet Saturday, December 3rd

On Saturday, December 3rd, San Saba Masonic Lodge will hold its regular stated meeting. A meal of Taco Soup provided by Earnest Roy Jones will be served. Also, Masons and Mason’s helpers are reminded to provide their community service reports for November. Lodge will open at 7:00 p.m.

New Hope Presbyterian Church welcomes Hunter Mabery, December 4th

On Sunday, December 4, Hunter Mabery will be playing in worship at the New Hope Presbyterian Church. A native of Arkansas, where he grew up on a small ranch, Hunter completed his Master's Degree in Piano Accompaniment at Guildhall School of Music in London, England.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has started mailing ballots for the Farm Service Agency (FSA) county committee elections to eligible farmers and ranchers across the country. To be counted, ballots must be returned to the San Saba-Mills County FSA office or postmarked by December 5, 2022.

The Friends of the Rylander Memorial Library will be holding their Fall Book Sale this Friday and Saturday, December 2nd and 3rd at the Rylander Memorial Library which is located just east of the Courthouse. The hours are 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday.
