The minutes from previous meetings of the San Saba County Commissioners’ Court were approved in December 2022 and January 2023. These minutes were prepared by Kim Wells, district/ county clerk, and provided by Candy Kokernot, Administrative Assistant to County Judge.

Here are the highlights:

A presentation for security cameras for the San Saba County Courthouse was presented by Joyce Volleman of Verkada Company. No action on this item.

Linebarger Attorney Carrie Pickering presented Excess Tax Sale Proceeds in the approximate amount of $8,700.00 to San Saba County.

Jody A. Fauley, (Judge Elect at the time) was unanimously appointed as Board Member to Hill Country Transit District Board to begin January 1, 2023.

There was discussion on email-related scams aimed at San Saba County Employees.

There was discussion on access to the Courthouse: Sheriff security and court access.

Marsha Hardy gave a FEMA report during one of the meetings.

Contents of safety deposit bank box were reviewed, and County Attorney will revise documents. The key will be held by Kenley Kroll, Senior Commissioner.

Motions adopted:

• The San Saba County Cafeteria Plan for Health Insurance and Supplemental Insurances was unanimously adopted.

 

• DIR-Certified Cybersecurity Course Enrollment offered through TAC to fulfill requirements of Texas Government Code 2054.5191 for FY 2022-2023 was unanimously approved.

 

• Email accounts for all Jail Dispatchers/Jailers for required DPS TCIC Operations for TLETS access was unanimously approved.

• Retiring Judge to purchase Surplus Office Electronic Items at depreciated price of $600.00 was unanimously approved.

 

• Purchase of a 2015 Flatbed Pickup Truck for Precinct No. 1 for $27,500.00 was unanimously approved.

 

• A disbursement of American Rescue Funds of $122,450.00 to each precinct was unanimously approved.

 

• American Rescue Funds were dispersed to the San Saba Volunteer Fire Department and other County Fire Departments as per requests.

 

• American Rescue Funds were disbursed for repairs to San Saba Emergency Operating Center.

 

• Disbursement of American Rescue Funds for repairs to San Saba Emergency Operating Center was unanimously approved.

 

• Getting estimates on repairs to replace the flooring in the Courthouse Annex Building was unanimously approved.

The following were unanimously approved: Accounts Payable, Minutes of Previous Meetings, County/District Clerk’s Reports subject to audit, County Treasurer’s Report subject to audit, Justice of the Peace Report subject to audit, and County Sheriff and Jail Report subject to audit.

There were no line-item transfers presented at these meetings.

Motions Tabled:

• Appointment of representatives for San Saba County to the CTCOG Executive Committee

• Burn Ban (Currently lifted as of 8-22-2022) no change due to very good rains [Editor's note: Update on Burn Ban: as of January 9th, the Burn Ban has been reinstated.] Announcements:

• All were reminded about the County Christmas Luncheon at Pepperbelly’s.

 

• The court was informed flu shots at Everett’s Pharmacy and about Nick Taylor Stem Water and drainage requirements for subdivisions.

 

• A reminder was given of the General Election canvas on November 16th at 10:00 am.
