American Legion Post gets new look

There were 22 people that attended the meeting of the Wiley B. Murray Post No. 27 on January 11th. Two new veterans were voted into the post membership, Angela Tinney and Kody Morris. Angela served as a trauma nurse in the US Air Force and is employed at San Saba High School.

Major storm events across Texas bring snow to San Saba

This week’s cold weather changed many of our schedules. Martin Luther King Day events were cancenled across the state. The time off did give us a chance to stop and look at the beautiful snow blanketing our town. Many of you posted the beautiful photos on our Facebook page.

House on Wallace Street destroyed by fire days before Arctic Blast hits

San Saba and Richland Springs volunteer firefighters were called to a house fire around 4:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11th, in the 400 block of West Wallace St. Upon arrival, San Saba firefighters discovered intense flames in the rear portion of the home.

Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, has announced the students achieving the Dean's List for the 2023 fall semester. To be eligible for the ASU Dean's List, full-time undergraduate students must maintain a 3.25 or better grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
