Every year about this time, my wife and I close out our books for the year. There are usually papers scattered all over, and we are busy helping each other to get everything added up. I always hold my breath to see if we have given enough to the Lord.

Mason - San Saba January 25, 2024 Receipts totaled 4,092 head. The market was very active with good demand again this week. The stocker steers sold $5-$12 higher with 3 steers 577 lbs at $ 288.00 ($1661.71), and stocker heifers were $10-$15 higher with 4 heifers 354 lbs at $322.50 ($1141.65).

San Saba Elementary held its 2nd Annual Spelling Bee on Thursday, January 18th. There were 35 contestants in all ranging from 2nd grade to 4th grade, double the contestants that entered last year!

Last May, I attended a motherdaughter banquet in Newark, Ohio, with my daughter Jenny. At the end of the banquet they gave the lovely potted flowers that decorated the tables to women whose name they drew.
