Focus for March : Courage What does Courage Look Like?
Courage is choosing to do what is right, even when it feels difficult, uncomfortable, or uncertain. It means facing challenges, speaking up for yourself or others, and continuing forward despite fear or self-doubt. Courage shows up when you try something new, take responsibility for your actions, or stand strong in your values—whether in the classroom, on the field, with friends, or in our community.
Conversation Starters:
Try these with a friend, teammate, or family member:
• When is it hardest for me to show courage? Why?
• What does courage look like in our school or community?
• When was a time I did something difficult even though I was nervous?
• How did my actions this week make a positive difference for someone else?
At San Saba ISD, strong character means recognizing that courage helps us grow. When students choose courage— by trying their best, standing up for others, or pushing through challenges—they not only strengthen themselves but also help build a supportive and resilient community.
Every act of courage, big or small, helps lift us all.
