The third ball game of the 2023 football season will be upon us this Friday evening. San Saba (1-1) will be hosting the Johnson City Eagles (1-1) at Rogan Field; kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. The Eagles are coming off of a win over Comfort 58-20, and a loss to Thrall 42-56. The Dillos are looking to bounce back after a rough game against Junction. The San Saba vs Johnson City series is a new one if you compare them to teams the Dillos have been playing over the last 108 years. Although the series did not start until 2000 (San Saba won 50-7) the Eagles have faced off against the Dillos 15 out of the last 23 years. Just in case anyone was doing a running count, San Saba has played 109 different opponents over the last century. With this being the 16th time the teams have faced off; it will be the 18th most played team the Dillos have competed against.
