Cherokee HS athlete signs Letter of Intent with Sul Ross State University

Congratulations to Cherokee athlete, Rode Ligon! Last Wednesday, February 8th, surrounded by family, coaches, and friends, Rode signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his education, and athletic career, with Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas.

Rode was All-District, All-Region, and All-State two years in a row playing multiple positions. He will be playing the position of kicker at Sul Ross.

Both of Rode’s parents (Ben Ligon and Katie Boswell) graduated from Sul Ross, and they are excited that Rode will be continuing the family tradition. Rode plans to play football and major in Agriculture with an emphasis on Equine Reproduction starting in the fall of 2023.
