Ethan Gonzales
Last week, the San Angelo Standard Times announced their annual “All West Texas Football Team.” Congratulations to senior Ethan Gonzales on being selected to the first team list as a running back.
Gonzales had an outstanding senior year for the Armadillos as he rushed for 1,456 yards on 227 carries (5.26 avg) and scored 20 touchdowns. This achievement is even more impressive when you take in account that it was accomplished in nine games as he played just a few snaps due to an injured ankle in week 10.
The 1,1456 rushing yards is 7th most all time in a single season only behind running backs Olidio Cantu, Sean O’Keefe (twice), John Henry Sr., and Eli Salinas (twice).
Gonzales’s career rushing total yards of 2,457 puts him #5 on the all-time rushing list behind Eli Salinas, John Henry Sr., Sean O’Keefe, and John Henry Jr.
