San Saba County Treasurer Lois VanBeck attended a Risk Conference last month held in Round Rock, Texas.That conference was with the Texas Association of Counties.She learned more about a new law pertaining to protection for pregnant workers. There was questions as to whether Texas is indeed covered.

Pet of the Week

Simba was rescued during a bitter cold snap in January. He spent his first two months braving the chill alongside his siblings, all of whom have since found warm, loving homes. But Simba is still waiting for his perfect match.

Jordan Cattle Auction

Receipts totaled 5,928 head. The market was active with very good demand this week. The stocker steers were steady except for the real light weights were $3$5 higher with 14 steers 302 lbs at $500.00 ($1510.00) and 5 steers 563 lbs at $347.00 ($1953.61).
