LCRA Steps Forward is a program for LCRA employees to have a fun and meaningful way to give back and partner with their customers on projects that help their communities.
On April 11, 2025, a crew of seven volunteered for a project at the Rylander Memorial Library to clean, lay weed barrier, and cover with river rock the bed in front of the library parking lot. Digging up existing plants and weeds, leveling the bed, laying the weed barrier and stapling it down, loading the skid steer with rock and raking the rock into place was a big job on a hot Friday with temperatures in the high 80s.
Thanks go to the City of San Saba for feeding the guys lunch and for the loan of their skid steer, all of which made their job easier.
The Friends of the Rylander Memorial Library are extremely grateful to the LCRA employees who came to help us complete a very big job, and to the LCRA itself for the program they provide to perform services for our community.
