An Old Saddle

One of my prized possessions is a saddle that belonged to my grandfather. The saddle was made in the late 1950’s/early 1960’s by R.E. Donaho in SanAngelo,Texas. My grandfather used it to calf rope and then to ranch for many years.

Mason - San Saba December 15, 2022 Receipts totaled 4,155 head. The market was very active this week and demand was strong. Stocker steers were $4-$5 higher with 5 steers 544 lbs at $204.00 ($1109.76). Stocker heifers were $8-$10 higher with 16 heifers 484 lbs at $192.00 ($929.28).

Hamilton took over EMS duties in San Saba County in August of 2020. At that time,Wesley Alexander was District Chief over both San Saba and Mills Counties. Hamilton then took over EMS operations in Lampasas County October 1, 2022, and Chief Alexander adjusted to add Lampasas to his territory.

A Historical Christmas at the Museum

Stephanie Huff told stories of San Saba 1880s-1940s in the kitchen area of the San Saba County Museum. The sixth grade enjoyed a historical Christmas and learned of a simpler day.
The Pierian Club met in the beautifully decorated home of Kay Nettleship for its annual Christmas Tea. Hostesses were Mary Margaret Moorhead, Rhonda Killion, Jacqueline Carlson, Marcia Dyer, Marjean Alexander, Kathy McEwin, and Leah Nettleship Oehrlein. Members and their guests were treated to an array of sweets, Jingle Punch, infused water, and tea. It was a wonderful way to welcome the holiday season. (Not pictured: Tracy Farley)

Alice is in a Winter Wonder Land here in Ohio on December 19, is ccccold this morning with an inch of snow on the ground, 18 degrees and high of 32; Thursday it will snow more; Christmas morning it will be 5 degrees and a high of 17.
