It’s put another log on the fire time. Although any rain we get is gratefully accepted, the cold wind that came along for the ride was bone-chilling. Depending on the temperature, we are possibly looking at some sleet in the forecast. I’m keeping my wood and blankets closer.
1/18/1973, 50 years ago: WINTER IN THE CAPITAL –– This is a winter scene of the courthouse in the Pecan Capital last Thursday morning, Jan. 11, after the snowstorm that began early in the night Wednesday. It has been several years since this much snow, about four inches, has fallen in the area. The snow makes the shrubs and even the bare trees take on a majestic appearance, as well as the courthouse. –– Staff Photo
