Please join our County Extension Agent, McKinley Armstrong, for a Do Well, Be Well with Diabetes class. This class will go over five main sessions: 1. How food affects your blood glucose! 2. Are you eating the right number of carbohydrates? 3.

The Cherokee Volunteer Fire Department is gearing up for its annual fundraising event featuring a Fish Fry, raffle and auction. Pictured is the Cherokee ladies handmade quilt to be raffled on September 9, the Saturday after Labor Day. The quilt is an oversize queen and features fall colors and many stars. Thomas Waterman of Rochelle, Texas, was named to the spring 2023 Dean's List at the University of Dallas for earning a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher. Waterman is a Junior Physics major.

Texas receives $60M to strengthen electricity grid

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced on July 6 that the Texas Division of Emergency Management will receive $60.6 million to help utilities strengthen infrastructure on the state’s electricity grid.

Olivia Baptiste is from Parker, Colorado, and is preparing for her Junior year at Texas A&M. She is working with Dr. Charles Key and his staff at the Vet Clinic for the month of July. She is studying Bio-Medical Engineering with the goal of acceptance to Aggie Vet School.

When I went to the Kroger store here in Zanesville, Ohio, last week, I saw a car license plate from Texas. I looked around and stayed a short time hoping to see the owner. I went inside the store and made my purchases. When I came out of the store, a woman was putting groceries in the Texas car.
