The first presentation at “A Night at the Museum” on Saturday, March 2nd, will be Spinning Texas Cotton given by Jane Hilton in the Museum Honors Room beginning at 4:15 p.m.

Jane was introduced to the world of living history in the early 1980's at Jesse Jones Park near Houston. Through the Tall Pines Spinners and Weavers, she learned to spin and weave. There she developed a passion for learning about cotton. For over 20 years, she enjoyed demonstrating these fiber skills at various living history events in that part of Texas. Now living in Leander, she is exploring life at the time when settlers moved into central Texas. She continues to learn as much as she can about cotton and enjoys sharing her passion through demonstrations. Last October, you may have met her at Fort Crogan Days.

Since our celebration of Texas Independence Day begins at 4:00 p.m., you will want to have your tickets ahead of time. For ticket information, see page 4 of this edition, or go to our website sansabamuseum.org. You won’t want to miss the family friendly activities, live music, a display of art by SSHS students, the new exhibits, and a campfire dinner.
