Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Gr eek.”
The gospel is the “good news” that God sent a Savior into the world. All men are lost in sin, (for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God) and therefore must receive the payment for that sin; “for the wages of sin is death,” not only physical, but spiritual. Revelation 20:14, 15 “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
I know that this is not a pleasant subject, and many refuse to accept it. But if the Bible is true, (and I believe it is) it is a fact. Sin must be paid for, and we cannot pay the price ourselves. But the good news is, according to the gospel message: “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners.” He paid the price by shedding his precious, sinless blood on Calvary’s cross that our sins could be remitted; “without shedding of blood is no remission.” He was buried and three days later rose from the grave as the proof that God had accepted the payment!
“The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:9.
It seems too simple, but it’s God’s way because he wants no one to miss out on it. “This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.” Psalm 117:23.
