The regular monthly board meeting of the San Saba Museum Foundation was held September 7, 2023. President Lynn Blankenship presided over the meeting with 10 members present.
There was no new report on the museum building expansion plans, However, it was reported that the form and photos for the previous grant donation for the curbside appeal project had been received by LCRA, and that in July 2025, the San Saba County Museum will again be eligible for an additional CDPP grant.
Additional topics discussed included purchase of audio equip-ment for the oral history project, the treasurer’s report, purchase of liability insurance from an insurer of organizations like churches and other non-profits, the planned sixth grade Christmas visit field trip, and the sale of noted local artist Jan Felts Mauldin Christmas cards as an annual museum money-making project.
As an exciting proposal, the updating and embellishment of the local museum website is hoped for and planned to occur with the expertise and assistance of Christi Mays who will freshen, improve, expand, and simplify usage of the website.
