Last Saturday, I went to watch my granddaughter graduate from college. The large stadium was over half full but very comfortable seating and easy to get in and out of. It was a happy occasion, and the atmosphere was filled with happiness and joy.
I know the graduates had worked long and hard to be where they were to have earned the degree they were about to receive. All the different families’ their moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends. Also, to see so many different nationalities represented there was neat. We talked to and visited different families and as they would proudly say, my son or my daughter or my granddaughter or my niece is graduating today.
One thing that caught my eye was that many were not well dressed in that they may had shoes that were worn or pants that were frayed. I realized many had sacrificed a lot for that graduate. I know my parents did without so I could go to college, the first in my family.
That situation reminds me of something in the Bible. We will never really know or fully understand the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us that our sins could be forgiven, and we could be acceptable before God in heaven. Some will ask forgiveness and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, (1 Peter 1:3-5, 9, 18-19, 21, 23, John 3:16). Sadly, many will not, (2 Peter 2:9,10, 13, 14). See you in Church next Sunday.
