The Gettys are coming to Fredericksburg!

Keith and Kristyn Getty are passionate about music and their modern hymns are sung around the world. Christianity Today named them the “preeminent” hymn writers of this generation.Their original publishers estimate that more than 100millionpeoplearoundtheglobe sing their hymns every year.

On Friday, March 24, the city of Fredericksburg will be delighted with these renown musicians in our own Texas Hill Country.

The Gettys were nominated for a GRAMMY Award for their album Confessio: Irish American Roots in 2022. Keith was the first contemporary Christian musician to be awarded Officer of the Order of the British Empire by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth in 2018 for his contributions to music and hymnody. Keith and Kristyn are also 2-time Dove Award-winning recording artists with 13 Dove nominations. Ever passionate about sharing the hope of Christ through songs that are crafted to last for all of life, their catalog receives over 160M annual streams, with 100M total YouTube views, over 600k Spotify monthly listeners and over 200k YouTube subscribers. Their latest project, Christ Our Hope in Life and Death, features a new collection of modern hymns and special guest artists including Michael W. Smith and Rend Collective.

Keith and Kristyn serve as founding leaders of the Getty Music organization, combining diverse creative initiatives, publishing, a record label, touring, and the Sing! Conference, all serving the vision of building deeper believers through the hymns we sing. They also recently established the Getty Music Foundation, an organization that aims to foster Christ-centered singing in under-resourced parts of the world. The Getty Music team is currently developing the Sing Hymnal, which is slated to be released in 2025 in partnership with Crossway.

The Gettys and their team of songwriters share a deep musical curiosity and commitment to collaboration. Accordingly, their hymnshavefoundahomeindiverse settings, from artist recordings by Chris Tomlin, Lauren Daigle and Trip Lee to Alison Krauss, Ricky Skaggs and Vince Gill, as well as more classical contexts such as the enthronement of theArchbishop of Canterbury and in ever-increasing global expressions.

As performers or “ambassadors for hymns,” the couple love sharing music, from singalongs in their home and at local churches to annual events at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Grand Ole Opry House. They have been the feature of television specials on PBS, CBS, TBN, BBC, and have sung for presidents, prime ministers, and the UK National Prayer Breakfast at Houses of Parliament. Over the next two years, they are excited for the first Sing! World Tour to commence in June 2023 with Sing! Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Keith and Kristyn are advocates for the fun and joy of singing in the family, from television and online programstotheGettyKidsHymnal series of albums.
