Hello from Bend, I am so thankful for the rain that we’ve gotten. The cooler temps are here, and the holiday season is upon us. Fall is probably one of my favorite seasons. There’s something about warm cozy sweaters, hot chocolate, and the fallen leaves on the ground that makes me giddy inside. Memories from holidays past flood my mind and bring light to the many blessings that have been bestowed upon me.
I’m having a really difficult time wrapping my head around the fact that my oldest daughter, Skylar, is turning 18 years old this week. Her senior year is flying by, and she’ll be graduating quicker than two shakes of a lamb’s tail. My son, Waylon, has started his first “real” job at D & B Taxidermy in Cherokee. He has been working hard, and I am so proud of him. Those two kiddos have put a lot of silver hair on my head, but I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world. The same goes for little River, of course. She is loving her first year in Junior High. It is such a neat thing to watch their personalities shape as they get older. All three of them simply amaze me.
My sister, Bethany Ramsey, of Irving, Texas, finally got to go home from the hospital with Baby Blake. Prayers are still requested as not all of the answers have been found to the issues she is facing. In the meantime, she is getting used to a feeding tube, and according to my sister, Baby Blake is getting feistier and stronger, and learning how to rip the tube out. My sister and her husband have their hands full with three other kiddos, but my mom is thankfully there to help ease some of the load.
Prayers are needed in Bend as well! Jerome Meischen is home from a lengthy medical stay in Lampasas. I know he is sure glad to be home. Raymond Hicks is recovering in a rehabilitation center in San Saba. He recently had surgery due to a fall. Lewvon is lucky to be able to stay with him, but being away from your home is exhausting and stressful. Toby and Vicky McWilliams both had surgeries last week (on the same day!) and are recovering. Good vibes and well wishes are being sent their way!!! <3 Pete Henniger is in need of continued prayers. We are still waiting on this new cancer treatment to get a medical code of some sort before it can begin. Until then, the cancer continues to spread. Please, please pray.
Patsy Henniger celebrated her birthday last week. She had a full house of loved ones and as always, a good time was had by many. :-) This Saturday, November 19th, at 6 p.m., is the Bend Community Meeting. A yummy Mexican style meal will be served, including enchiladas, beans, rice, and tamales! A business meeting will be held following dinner.
