As a good American and an advocate for a democratic two party system, I have recently watched with dismay the on-going diminishment of the GOP, the Grand Ole Party, Honest Abe’s party, better known as the Republican party. This is so sad! A strong democracy like the United States needs two parties to reflect the differences among us, the conservative and the liberal, and to counterbalance these two perspectives.
The U.S. does not, however, need the dissolution of our democracy and a turn toward autocracy, one man rule. The true Republican party is the party of John McCain, Barry Goldwater, Everett Dirksen, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, the John Birch Society, the Tea Party, Liz Cheney, among many others, and, most importantly, of Abraham Lincoln, a truly honorable man, all different, many I have disagreed with over the years, but all honorable Americans!
The Great Prevaricator, pusher of the Big Lie, has always been described by me as a true “American Disgrace.” I began calling him that years ago when he declared bankruptcies and left his subcontractors hanging in the wind in Atlantic City, long before he ran for President. I called him that when he placed his new third trophy wife on the wing of his old Braniff plane in brown hot pants and boots and had her put her tush high in the air toward the camera for a Time Magazine photo….. Really??? a future First Lady???(Summer, 2016) Unbelievable! I still have a hard time with that but, then as a woman, I very much resent rampant misogyny!
An “American Disgrace” is his long-time nomer from me. His history in life earned him that title! Or don’t you know his history? Read, research! Find out! Do not limit yourself and your intelligence to Fox News and Tucker Carlson!
The Great Prevaricator is a relatively new title I selected when I saw, heard, and then read his 2000+ documented lies while in national office, all of which caused my new name for him to be much merited. Think about it! In office four years or more than 1400 days and telling one or more documented lies every day! Lordy, when did the Presidency become so dishonorable? And, when did good Americans become so gullible? Scary!
I recently heard Adam Kinzinger, brave Republican Congressman from Illinois, applaud Liz Cheney for telling the truth about the January 6th insurrection and I also have heard her being diminished by the loud followers, sycophants of Forty Five! At what point did Trump supporters become so easily gulled and lied to? Were they always like that? Or is it that they just don’t read widely? Whatever! Call the Republican Party, no longer the Grand Ole Party, the GOP, what it is, The Trump Party or TTP, Project Orange.
Oh well! This is just me, ruminating, musing, or maybe whistling in the wind!
